It’s been a good week for Xist Music!! Their artists The Ambassador and Jahaziel have new music out and now Xist Music has now partnered with Malaco Music Group. Big move for the independent label started by T. Black and Sean Simmonds.

With a new vision and a new approach, Xist Music founders T. Black and Sean Simmonds have signed a long term partnership with one of music’s long standing companies Malaco Music Group. “I’m truly excited about this opportunity; it gives us a partner that understands our vision, says T. Black, CEO of Xist Music.” I really want to thank D.A. Johnson and Tommy (Couch) Jr. for allowing us to continue to build what God has blessed us with.” Xist Music will operate as a stand alone label with the added services of a booking component and a publishing company. The new merger will allow for the expansion of the artist roster to reflect the ultimate goal, which is to provide Christian based hip-hip, urban and pop artists a strong label partner and also broaden the awareness and exposure behind the marketing efforts of each artist. The first release under the new partnership is the long awaited Xist Music debut of UK stand out Jahaziel entitled, “Heads Up” coming Fall 2013 and label president Sean Simmonds’ highly anticipated project “The Genesis” expected first quarter 2014.
The first new artists signed to the roster are female singing sensation Adia and rising Christian contemporary artist Milton Young (pictured below) with several more to be named in the coming weeks.
Yes, Jazahziel, you better give me my gospel reggae groove back!! Xist Music artist Jahaziel steps back up to the plate with his latest offering “They Don’t Know” ft. Maxi Priest. Yes, you read that right, Maxi Priest, noted as one of the most successful reggae fusion acts of all-time and happens to be Jahaziel’s uncle. The new track is super nice, I like it and the forthcoming album is due out this fall! With a great first single, “They Don’t Know” hightens the anticipation for the full album. I’m excited for Jahaziel!! Check out the tune below and support by purchasing the song from iTunes.
Jahaziel shares the inspiration for the song, “This song is a social commentary describing the darker side of the community I live in. A side that many within it want to escape, and one that many outside of it would rather ignore. Drug trafficking, sexual abuse, robbery, murder, unemployment and broken homes are just some of the things I have seen personally where I live. And I have seen these things throughout my life growing up in urban environments.
Two and half years ago my family and I felt the call of God to join an organization called The Eden Network. This led to us moving from our 2-bed house in a nice area to a 1 bed flat on a housing estate in a deprived area of North London. Since moving we have led a team of local urban missionaries – basically a group young Christian volunteers who want to be used to affect their community for God.
Partnering with the local church, we run a weekly youth club, job clubs, girls groups, mini concerts and various other outreach provisions. Has our work changed the entire community yet – far from it… but we have seen change in the lives of many young people. Changes in attitudes towards drugs, work, violence, sex, peer pressure, God and church.
All communities, especially the poor ones are filled with hurting people. People who have been so beaten by life’s storms that they’ve lost hope.
As part of Christ’s body I see it as my responsibility to go to the poor, the sick, the hopeless and demonstrate to them that there is a God who see’s their tears and will answer their cry if they will turn to Him.”
Bout Time!! Sheesh!! I’ve been waiting on new music from Ambassador and with the release of his latest EP, Hors D’Oeuvres, looks like I get something to at least put my appetite on chill for awhile. Ambassador released his lead single “Yah (You See Me)” and also shot a video for it. You can check that out below. And in support of his “Hors D’Oeuvres” EP release on yesterday, The Ambassador is releasing the first of 6 weekly devotional messages shaped around songs from the album. You can check out the first message HERE!

Hey we have a winner!! First I want to thank everyone who supported IChooseGospel.com in the giveaway. I was very happy with the response! So, I picked the winner by copy and pasting the names from the comments on the post, they were numbered, I went to Random.org and generated the number and matched it to the name and our winner is……KENYA LAWRENCE!! Congrats darling! You will be receiving your autographed Love Hope War album soon!!
Thank you all for entering! Below are some pictures to show that I didn’t pull any funny business in getting our winner. I had one person who commented three times, but I only entered them in once, because I didn’t state whether multiple entries would be allowed or not. So out of the 73 comments received in total (8 were from my responses), we had 65 comments, but taking out the multiple ones, I only allowed 63 to count. Random.org was used to generate our winner number and boom there you have it! Thanks again folks! Stay Tuned for more from IChooseGospel.com
