Okay, so just seeing the video to Erica Campbell’s latest single “Help”. It is directed by Bille Woodruff and it’s a real simple video. It features Erica’s daughter Krista, and even young Woozie makes an appearance at the end. I love the song and even though I don’t care much for the visual, I don’t lose any interest in song because Erica gives a great performance. I suppose I get the concept of the video, because the song is a simple plea to God for HELP. Erica looks AMAZE BALLS!! She is working it!! Lecrae does his thing as usual, still has me wondering however was another artist even needed on this song. I so wish they would have done a storyline to this song, lol. But it’s all good. You guys if you haven’t seen it yet, check out the “Help” video below. The album is due out on March 25th via eOne Music.
Erica Campbell, taking a side step from her GRAMMY award winning duo, Mary Mary, next on the chopping block is Erica’s second single and title track “Help”. I like this one better than “A Little More Jesus”. Now, this song makes me interested in hearing her solo project, “Help” due to be released in March. Erica’s first single simply reminded me of another Mary Mary song and left me wondering why was she going solo?! But “Help” switches all of that up for me! I love the blending of the old school and new school. I can just visualize being back in the 60’s/70’s but still having the new urban feel. Erica could have carried this on her own, but the feature from Lecrae is nice! That will bring a different crowd to Erica as she is like the ‘cool Mom’ everyone in the neighborhood likes! Check out Erica’s single below and be on the look out for the visual to be premiered exclusively on VH1 Soul, February 10th!
Los Angeles, CA (June 10, 2013) – Erica Campbell’s rising radio hit “A Little More Jesus,” will be on sale on June 25th. Fans can download the single on all digital retail outlets including iTunes, Google Play, and Amazon as well as can add the ringtone to your Verizon phone for Black Music Month.
The upbeat jam is the perfect summer song that features Campbell’s signature vocals backed by a throwback beat. The hand-clapping high-energy track provides a message of encouragement that gives all of us a much-needed boost. The song has already become one of the most added songs on gospel radio. Radio has responded in a big way, Elroy Smith of Radio One said, “When we debuted this song on PRAISE 103.9 in May and the listeners constantly begged us to play it again, again and again. If you want to feel good and uplifted, this is the song!”

Okay, not what I expected from Erica Campbell, but I like it. I cut a little jig on the country twanged-out gospel song. Mary Mary have had an amazing career and though more is to come, Erica Campbell’s solo effort starts off on a good note. Check out “A Little More Jesus” below and let me know what you think.
Yo! This video is nice! I love their fashion! I have never seen Mary Mary like this before! I mean they went there!! I love it! Okay, let me calm down, the video is very simple, which is cool, because this song is more about the track and the lyrics, to many visuals will distract. The lyrics are delivered hard and with intent and they expressed that same intent with their fashion. The hair, the high collars around the neck, the jewelry, a great look for Mary Mary. They wanted something fresh, something new and I for one believe that they delivered. Job very well done ladies. Check the video up top and let me know what you think!! Go Get It!!!
