Kierra Sheard Named New Judge On Sunday Best

kierraYo! Big news, the seventh season of BET’s Sunday Best starts off with news that replacing Cece Winans (moment of silence please) will be Kierra Sheard.  This is great for the gospel sweetheart.  I like the idea of having Kierra as a judge joining Donnie McClurkin and Yolanda Adams.  She will be the voice of the young people so to speak.  My only concern is will this be another ploy to Sunday Best producers to lean the competition towards someone they want to win?  I mean come on, the show has become more and more predictable over the years, and are we really shocked at who wins these days?  Anyhoo, for Kierra this is great she is also gearing up season 2 of The Sheards and is working on her next album.  Go Kierra, I ain’t mad! What do you think of the addition of Kierra Sheard to the judging table?

Auditions have already begun in Houston, TX this past Saturday, but you still have time to make it to the next cities! Head on over for more details!

Alexis Spight-New Music, Interview And Promotional Tour Dates!!

Check it out…

Gospel recording artist and BET’s Sunday Best Season Five first-runner-up, Alexis Spight, releases her debut album, L.O.L.: Living Out Loud, available in stores and online on March 12.

Alexis’ new single, “Steady” is impacting gospel radio. The single is available on iTunes and the video for “Steady” debuted on Radio One’s Interactive One, the Yolanda Adams Morning Show and other key online outlets to great reviews. The current single from the album is Alexis’ rendition of Kirk Franklin’s “Imagine Me,” which is currently #23 on Billboard’s Hot Gospel Songs chart and #17 on the Gospel Indicator Songs chart.

AlexisSpightDigitalResolution (1)With her fiery red hair and golden voice, Alexis was a favorite of both the judges and audience during Season Five of BET’s Sunday Best. While she came up just short of the crown in the 2012 gospel competition, the 19-year-old singer/songwriter is still a winner. As a testament to her talents and skills, Alexis made it to the Top 20 out of 15,000 who auditioned for the show and then survived the competition to the finale.

Greg “Uncle G” Lyons of Uncle G Promotions and Entertainment of Houston, TX, is Alexis’ manager and a big fan. “I’ve worked with several artists over the years, but it’s something distinctly different about Alexis,” says Lyons. “Everyone she comes in contact with instantly connects with her spirit. She is a pleasure to work with and she loves God.”

Since her Sunday Best win, Alexis has been traveling the country to promote her singles and forthcoming album. Her promotional tour has included appearances on the Impact Network, the 28th Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards, the BMI Trailblazers of Gospel event, a series of Super Bowl-related events, NBA All-Stars Weekend, Sunday morning worship service at the Greater St. Stephen Full Gospel Baptist Church, as well as church visits, radio and media appearances.

Alexis is enjoying the journey, but she is adamant about the fact that her music is her ministry and that her number one goal is to “win souls for the kingdom.” She also wants to make sure that the message in her music ministry remains clear: “You can be as different and unique as God made you and still love—and be loved by—God, so you can be bold and confident in your uniqueness.”
