Music Share || Shawna Harris “Praise Your Way Out”

UPDATE: Thanks to Tekoa Music Group, I got my hands on the full version  of “Praise Your Way Out” by Shawna Harris!  My Review: With 2011 really being owned by the men of gospel music and the start of 2012 following suit, I’m happy to find and be introduced to some ladies who are stepping up to the plate and are delivering some great gospel music.  Next up to bat is Shawna Harris, who steps in with a great praise anthem, that is the perfect fit for a choir selection. Get ready to do your praise dance!  This song has a nice organic feel to it, as if you are in the studio or live recording with Shawna and her backup group of singers.  The song stays true to traditional gospel sounds, but cleverly seeps in contemporary elements, riffs and runs.  The different puzzle pieces of this song are pieced together seamlessly and each lead up to a fantastic finish.  The lyrical content is simple and easy to grasp as the vocals are delivered clear and crisp, with intent! With a steady, yet energetic groove, by the time Shawna is in full soprano belts, bringing this song to its end (think Kierra Sheard- You Are), you are fully engaged with the spirit of the song and chanting along “it’s already done!”  If performed live, expect a reprise! This song gets a 4 out of 5! Listen to “Praise Your Way Out” below, while reading more about Shawna Harris.  The single will be available on iTunes and Amazon on May 15, 2012!

Augusta GA- Shawna Harris has been belting out powerful praise songs to Jesus for most of her life.  She is a sought after vocalist and one that artists call on when they need a power soprano to bring a song home in the vamp of any song.  Those who have experienced her ministry left feeling refreshed and encouraged.

Shawna has recorded with several industry known artists such as Jimmie Hicks, James Bignon, Phil Lassiter and more. She has also shared the stage and sang background for MD Stokes & Victorious Praise’s label mate, James Fortune,  Joshua’s Troop, Claude Deuce, and Vickie Winans to name a few.

Shawna honed her skills in the music business and ministry while singing with M.D. Stokes and Victorious Praise.    During her tenure with MD Stokes and VP, Shawna was the featured artist on the powerful ballad “Better to Know” and the song “Overflow”.  The group’s single, “Changes”, topped at #17 on the billboards and was a featured group on KERRY DOUGLAS PRESENTS GOSPEL MIX V4.  After spending years singing background in MD Stokes and Victorious Praise, Shawna is gearing up now for the release of her first solo project  for the summer of 2012.

The single, produced by Chris Thompkins of C St-Productions, is set for release on May 15th, 2012 and will be available through I-tunes and Amazon.  It will premiere on Aiken South Carolina’s WAAW Shout 94.7 at 4:20pm during the afternoon traffic drive with Harry Hippie Hughes.   Listeners will be introduced to Shawna’s ministry with an interview and will be the first to hear the single.

Her first single from her forthcoming solo project, “Praise Your Way Out”, is a song that encourages your inward praise regardless of your outward circumstances! After listening to “Praise Your Way Out”, you’ll want to praise, you’ll want to rejoice and most of all you’ll be motivated to never give up. God’s word lets us know that in this world we will definitely have tribulations and He constantly reminds us that He has already overcome the world! Don’t sit, soak and sour in the midst of your trial PRAISE YOUR WAY OUT because whatever you’re believing God for is already done!
